The University Book Store commissioned me to create a hanging sculpture in their Seattle store. I thought it would be appropriate to build books and arrange them as abstracted fish forms swimming through the two story opened atrium. Here, shoppers can walk under and travel up through the sculpted space as they climb the stairs to the second story. From the elevated vantage point the viewer can now look down into the "aquarium" of swimming books. I loved designing and fabricating this installation as it served up a few challenges. This work is on display permanently.
