The first time I performed as Bob Ross was during ARTJAM, 2009 in Georgetown Washington. I grew my beard and hair for three months, my hair was well on it’s way at that time, and told only a few people about what I had planned. I wanted to surprise the other artists and party folk by showing up in full Bob Ross gear and taking my time at the easel to paint a mountain landscape. The crowed had a blast and that Wednesday after ARTJAM I was asked to guest teach a painting class at a local high school, dressed as Bob Ross. By the end of the class, each student went home with their own painted mountain landscape.
I have since performed twice as Bob Ross for the Georgetown ARTOPIA festival. Each time I chose a different landscape to paint and of course, talked about the happy trees.
