I began painting on glass in 1999 while working out of my studio in Georgetown, Washington. I painted flowers from my garden as they progressed from saturated explosions of color to a more muted and delicately graphic form. I use clear glass, oil paints and ink to capture my floral impressions. I find that with glass I can achieve a very saturated color palate and allow light to interact more completely with my work.
Hanging glass has always been a challenge. I like to use steel as a framework to hold my glass paintings to the wall. The two materials compliment each other and handle the challenge beautifully.
